I'm back from my much needed blogging break... did you get my postcards? No? Hmmm... well... a monster must have eaten them. (Monsters are responsible for lots of things in our house lately!)
So, I'm back... and Seven Quick Takes is the perfect way to sum up the random thoughts I want to share today:
- 1.) I enjoyed not writing and just reading other blogs for a change. I discovered a couple of new-to-me blogs, and I cleaned up my reader, trimming some blogs that no longer held my interest.
- 2.) Since I have no other way to deliver this message, I'll put it out into cyberspace here. To the blond lady in the black car behind me this afternoon: I'm sorry that you felt I cut you off. It wasn't intentional. You tailgating me, blowing your horn and flashing your lights for the next mile, though? That was intentional. What did you want me to do-- pull over and beg your forgiveness?! Your rage and gestures made me literally laugh out loud, they were so over-the-top dramatic. (It helped that I drive an SUV that could easily squash that tiny car of yours.) I hope the rest of your day is better now that you've vented all that pent-up rage at my back bumper. Sheesh.
- 3.) My friend Sarah's daughter is getting ready to have surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids. Please pray for healing, as Hannah has been sick almost constantly in recent months.
- 4.) My daughter turns six in a couple of weeks, and right now we are knee-deep in planning a Princess Party for her friends. This will be her first "kid party"- we've always just done family parties before this. I'm hoping that the crafts and homemade games will be enjoyed by all... some of the parties she's attended for friends from school this year have been big, expensive productions. That's not going to happen here!
- 5.) We had a guy come to appraise our house today as a part of the process in our refinancing our home. We're taking advantage of the great interest rates... anyone else? There's nothing like having a stranger walk through every room in your home to make you realize how much Spring cleaning you need to do!
- 6.) My two year-old got bitten near his eye by another child yesterday. He's fine, but seeing teeth marks on his face today is a little weird for me. His main comment on the incident is "she won't say sorry"... apparently he is more upset by her lack of apology than by the bite itself- LOL!
- 7.) Today is the kickoff of the annual Spring Reading Thing over at Callipidder Days. My to-read list always grows during this carnival. If you're a fellow reader, click over there and join in the fun!

This is the second time today I've read about a little one getting bitten by another child! What's with all the biting! Poor little guy.
ReplyDeleteI need to clean up my reader, too. But I'm afraid I'll miss something. :)
You weren't driving on California streets this morning were you? I had to giggle, I deal with this kind of road rage daily out here (rolling eyes). And..I agree these lil' cars gotta lot of nerve, as I also drive an Excursion and could smush them like a bug!
ReplyDeleteHere is a Freebie for Sarah (not sure how old she is?) if interested.. http://frugalplus.com/?p=2942
I'm glad to hear your son is ok, after the biting ordeal!
Thank you Amy for requesting the prayer for Hannah :) I am glad something is finally being done.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about K :( poor guy.
I will be checking out the reading carnival. I always try to do it and then forget but I am always reading LOL.
God bless,
Sarah
Tempt me not with the reading, woman!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO with you on the trimming the reader. I had a break (unintentional) a few weeks back when I just didn't feel like blogging. I still blogged, but it was light. And every so often, a break is not only needed, but refreshing. Good for you!
As for the blond lady...you are very charitable. I would have flipped her off in return. OK, maybe I wouldn't have. Maybe I would have just thought nasty thoughts all day. But still. Hope it doesn't linger for you (as it would for me). Thanks for sharing such a grace-filled reply with all of us! :)
Thanks for your comment! I'm interested in the reading carnival...Reading is the thing that keeps me away from the Lenten cleaning, though.
ReplyDeleteWho am I kidding? Reading is like air to me. I'll definitely check it out.
Thanks for the link to the Carnival, I will definitely be checking that out.
ReplyDeleteThat poor woman in the behind you is going to give herself a heart attack, she's probably still seething about that big SUV that cut her off.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Sorry to hear your littlest got bitten, I hope he heals quickly. I hope the surgery makes a big difference for your friends daughter. Two of my boys have had their tonsils & adnoids out & the difference was amazing.
I did NOT get my postcard! Hmph! So now I'll tailgate you and honk my horn like a wild woman!!! lol
ReplyDeleteOh wait, someone already did that...
That is so rude and one of my pet peeves. We live on a road where the speed limit is 25, and there are ALWAYS cops waiting b/c there are 2 schools on the road. I HATE getting tailed. I always secretly hope that the cop pulls them over. :)
Have fun planning the Princess party!! How exciting. :) We're planning Batman over here.
Can you believe she's almost 6?!
I am going to have to follow your blog in hopes you will detail your ideas for your 6 year old's princess party. I am so bad at these type of things, and my 6 year old wants a Princess Tea Party in May for her birthday too! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Sometimes we all need a break from writing, I think.
ReplyDeleteI hate when people exhibit road rage. It scares me, especially if my kids are in the car. I accidentally bumped a car that pulled up behind me a couple of weeks ago, and I was scared to death of one of the passengers in the car. I thought she was going to pound me. It was an accident, for gosh sakes!
I need to clean up my blog feeds, too. And the spring cleaning, it's overwhelming! I want to sell, but, it's too daunting!
