Sick Days

To Whom It May Concern:

Please excuse Amy from blogging this week due to illness. Amy has an appointment this afternoon and hopes to return to her regular blogging in a few more days. In the meantime, she's leaving you this list of Real Notes Written By Parents- TN school district in lieu of any real posts.

Thank you,

Judging by Psalm 14:1...

A funny story shared by my cousin George:

An atheist created a case against the Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter and Passover holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians, Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,"Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned."

P.S. No, it's not a true story... but it makes a point, doesn't it? ;)

Star Wars 4-part a capella... you've gotta see this!

If, like me, you could use a break from the holiday stress,
then this is the video for you! :)
This is probably the funniest YouTube video I've ever seen!

If you've enjoyed it as much as I have, go vote... Corey is up for a real People's Choice award, and he's giving away a video game system to someone who helps spread the word.

I would have posted this video even without that extra incentive- seriously, it's that funny! :)

All things gas-tank related

Thanks to BooMama, I've been introduced to Tank on Empty, a site dedicated to that age-old question: how far can you really drive after your gas light comes on? You can search for your car's make and model and share stories. Too funny!
And, while we're talking about gas, I'm curious... how much is it in your neck of the woods? Here in southern Ohio, I filled up over the weekend at $1.78 a gallon. That's the lowest price I've paid in a long, long time!

Who is your real friend?

For some reason this email forward struck me as especially funny today:
Who is your real friend?
This really works...!
If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.
Put your dog and your spouse in the trunk of the car for an hour.
When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you??

Legal disclaimer: Of course I do not actually endorse putting your spouse, dog, cat, iguana, pig, turtle, or any other living creature in the truck of your car... but hey, I'll bet you laughed at this one, didn't you? :)
