Sleeping Bag Invitations

Hi, crafters... remember me?  Once upon a time I started this lovely meme... and then my life got crazy, and now I rarely have time to craft anything anymore.  Lucky for us, the always-creative Christine stepped up and has kept the meme going, providing fun challenges and a place to share each and every Sunday at Sunday Scrappin'. I am so happy that she did!  :)

I was recently going through pictures on my computer... side note: sorting those is a huge project that I need to tackle soon.  Anyways, I realized that I do have a few crafty projects that I've never shared, so here I am.

These are the invitations I designed for my daughter's slumber party back in April.  These were simply double-sided card stock, stickers, and text printed within shapes that I created with the PrintShop program on my computer.  I folded the cardstock in half, rounding the corners, and then cut a slit on the folded side to bend down for the top of the sleeping bag.  I made sure the sleeping bags were the right size to fit into a business envelope.  We added the flip flop stickers, heart stickers (on the pj leg), and a small square of felt for the pillow.

My daughter helped put them together, and she loved them. Her favorite part was the little glow-in-the-dark teddy bear stickers we found to put on the felt pillows.  We loved how they turned out!

If you've been doing anything crafty lately, be sure to stop by and link up with Sunday Scrappin'

Update 7/12: I'm also linking up to Made by You Monday @ Skip to my Lou .... mostly because I did a lot of online searches when I started this project.  Hopefully these invitations might inspire someone else!

Sunday Scrappin': SS Number Swap page

This is the page I created last month for a swap.  Everyone did a page with a Sesame Street character for a different number, and when they were all swapped out, we have a whole little book.  Mine will be a Christmas present for a certain little guy I know.  ;)

Sunday Scrappin': Meatball Subs Recipe Page

This is the 6x6 page I recently created for Sarah's freezer recipe swap at SCS. It was a quick and easy layout- perfect for sharing one of my family's favorite meals.

Scripture Bookmarks

I am stalking my mailman daily right now... LOL... in anticipation of getting this swap back. The requirements were to make a bookmark of any size/shape, include a scripture verse, and it had to have a tassel or ribbon of some type to hang out of the book. This is one of my favorite verses. I can't wait to see what the others made!

P.S. I'm linking up with Sunday Scrappin' , even though it's Wednesday. I don't want my SS girls to think I've totally abandoned them! ;) I have been doing plenty of crafting lately, just not so much blogging.

Sunday Scrappin'" rolodex card

Ta-Da: I finally finished off the swap cards for my two spots in the 3x5 Rolodex Cards Scripture Swap at SCS. Now I've got to find a cheap Rolodex card holder somewhere, so that I can display these creative pieces of inspiration- I can't wait to see what everyone else made!

I shared the other card I did earlier in the week- it features II Corinthians 5:17. You can see that card HERE.

To-Do: I don't have any crafty goals for this coming week... actually, I'll be thrilled if I squeeze in any craft time at all!

Sunday Scrappin' 5/17

TA DA's: I have been crafting over these last couple of months, but I've also been working on Sundays, so I haven't posted anything for my own Sunday Scrappin' meme in quite a while. So today I'm showing you a sampling of some of my recent projects:

As you can see, I've been pretty fond of these Diagonal Double folded pocket cards lately. I've made even more of them than I'm showing here, because they're just SO quick and easy!

CHALLENGE: Last week's challenge was to use flowers. I completed this mailbox last weekend, so I'm counting it for the challenge. ;) Inside the envelopes were earrings and a necklace for my sister's birthday.

TO DO's: This week I need to make two birthday cards, and come up with some super quick end-of-the-year gifts for DD's bus drivers and teachers.

This week on Wednesday I'll be posting the photos and directions for the diaper cake I made for my sister's baby shower... come back then to check it out! :)

Sunday Scrappin'

TA DA's: I'm finally sharing a pic of the cover I did for my personal planner... though, for the record, it's still a work in progress! (I still want to do something with the divider tabs.) Right now, it's basically a piece of one of my favorite DPs decorated with some eyelets and brads. Originally I had tied numerous ribbon pieces down the spine, but I decided that look really didn't work on this particular book. I also made a coordinating RSVP pen to match.
I spent most of yesterday at my parents' house with my sisters, making baby shower invitations for another sister. I designed them, and we all sat around stamping and folding them. They're not completely finished yet- they still need ribbon across the front, and the information cards have to be finished once we get a confirmation on our location. Hopefully we'll get these out by the end of the week, though.

TO DO's: Finish those baby shower invitations!

Sunday Scrappin'

TA-DA's: This week I can finally share a very belated Christmas gift that I finally got to deliver to my friend Sarah~ this cute little jar, filled with foot-shaped paper clips. It was fun to make and didn't take long at all to put together.

I also worked on altering my personal planner, but I don't have any finished photos to show yet. I had used regular adhesive to attach some pieces to the front cover, and they promptly came off after one day in my purse. It's back to the drawing board on that one!

TO-DO's: Finish up my planner and get busy on the scrapbook pages I keep meaning to do but never seem to quite get around to doing.

If you do any sort of paper crafts, I hope you'll join us for Sunday Scrappin'.... even if, like me (the hostess!), you post after Sunday! LOL!

Tuesday Scrappin'

Ta Da: I can finally share a gift set I'd created since I gave it to the intended recepient last week. I used THIS template once again to create another notepad set. The outer folder is double sided cardstock, and I stamped the plain red side with a Stampin' Up wheel.

The inside contains a mini legal pad, which I also ran the wheel over just for a little extra decoration.

The pens are so easy, but I love how they look. To create: take an RSVP pen, unscrew the end, remove ink, insert a piece of rolled up 3 1/2" x 7/8" card stock, replace pen parts, and you're done. Very easy!

To Do: This week I really want to get some pages done in my daughter's scrapbook- I have pieces and parts picked out, but nothing put together. I also need to make a birthday card and design a new cover for my personal planner.
P.S. I'm linking this post up with my Sunday Scrappin' meme.... yep, I'm a few days late, but, hey, it's my meme, and I'm OK with that. ;)

Sunday Scrappin' 1/25

I finally got some crafting time in this week- though not much! It seems like ever since Christmas I've had great plans for projects, but no time to actually sit down and work on them.

TA DAs: I did manage to get this little gift set done for one of the girls I work with in celebration of National Activity Professionals Week. Inside that folder is a mini memo pad. I used THIS template.

It's hard to tell from the photo (taken in my car on my camera phone, LOL), but the pens are decorated to match. They were so easy- take RSVP pens, unscrew the end, remove ink, insert a piece of rolled up 3 1/2" x 7/8" card stock, replace pen parts, and voila!

TO DOs: A lot! I need to make another memo set like the one above. I also need to come up with a new display board for a volunteer/vocation fair I'm attending at a local high school this week. I'll be talking with students and trying to recruit volunteers, so I figure a creative display is in order. I'll be using my Cricut for letters and shapes- we'll see how it comes out!

Sunday Scrappin' 12/28: The Cards!

Ta Da's: The cards. The cards. What can I say, except that right now I think I'll have photo cards printed at the drugstore next year? :) I actually love how these turned out, though, and I've received several nice compliments on them. On some I added glitter on Love, Hope, and Peace and some of the berries... and then later I decided that I liked them just as well without the glitter, so I didn't glitter the second half. (I wish I'd decided that before the first batch, LOL, to save myself some time!) I made about 45 of these. Some had dark red layering, some had dark green, but otherwise they were all pretty much the same.
Stamp set is "Holiday Wishes" (retired) by Stampin' Up.
To-Do's: Make some thank you notes and clean off my craft table. Right now everything you can think of is piled on it and in front of it- Christmas decorations, mail, etc. I am anxious to get it cleaned off today!

This week's question: what crafty gifts did you give, and what craft-related gifts did you receive? I gave this to my mother-in-law, made all of our cards, created a coffee gift basket for my parents (with chocolate peppermint spoons), and one other little thing that I can't talk about here yet. ;) I received a big basket of scrapping goodies from a friend at work, and a Xyron Create-A-Sticker from my mother-in-law. I'm anxious to play with both of those!

Christmas cards in progress

I was hoping to get these completely finished in time for Sunday Scrappin' yesterday, but that didn't happen. So... I thought I'd show you that I am, in fact, making progress on my 50+ Christmas cards! :) I did these several nights ago:
All the images (from Stampin' Up's Holiday Wishes set) are stamped and half have been glittered. I'm using Glitter Glue, which is a cheaper version of Stickles. Hopefully tonight I'll get the rest glittered and then start cutting out the matting pieces.

If you do any sort of paper crafts, I hope you'll join my Sunday Scrappin' meme... even if, like me, you sometimes post on Mondays! ;)

Sunday Scrappin' 11/30

Whoo hoo- finally, I have something crafty to show for my own meme! :) It's been a few weeks since I've had anything to share... life has just been busy, busy, busy!

TA-DA's: I completed these recipe swap pages for my friend Sarah's vegetarian swap at SCS last weekend. I love that DP and I was happy with how these pages turned out.

Today I played around with some clipart and made this sign for my office door at work, using glitter glue and other things to embellish the image. (Click on either project to view it in my SCS gallery and get details on materials used.)

TO-DO's: CHRISTMAS CARDS! Accckkk! I sat one evening and addressed all the envelopes... now if I can just get the cards made, I'll be all set. My goal is to get them all made and sent out by the end of this week.

If you do any sort of paper crafts,
we'd love for you to join us for Sunday Scrappin'!

Sunday Scrappin' #44

Ta-Da's: I finally finished up one set of the recipe swap pages- these are for a swap I hosted at SCS for easy recipes. I also did a card for my brother-in-law's birthday. Click on the photos if you want details on materials & techniques used- they are linked to their respective pages in my SCS gallery.

To-Do's: Finish up another set of recipe swap pages. I have pieces and parts laid out on my craft table, but the layout just isn't working for me yet. I also need to get moving on a set of 8x8" scrapbook pages for a swap due at the end of the month.

Challenge: Well, the ribbon on the birthday card is brand-new, but I opened it the day I bought it, so I can't really say that counts for the "open a new embellishment from your stash" challenge. ;)

Sunday Scrappin' #43

Ta-Da's: I did finally post a photo of the baby card I told you about last week-- you can see that photo in another post, HERE. I did a few more recipe pages:

And I've made progress on those secret gift items. I'm dying to show them off, but I'd be so disappointed if the recepients happened to visit my blog and see them before they were done, so, no photos yet.

To-Do's: Finish the swap recipe pages, create my 8x8" swap pages, finish up the gift projects. (If this list seems familiar it's because I literally copied and pasted it from last week, which means that I didn't get any of it completely done. ::sigh::)

Challenge: I didn't really get into any textures, unless you count the glitter glue on the jello picture. ;)

Sunday Scrappin' #42

Ta-Da's: You'll have to take my word for these as I don't have any pics to post yet... but I finished a baby card, started a birthday card, and got pieces laid out for some 6x6" recipe swap pages. All of that came after I got my entire craft table cleared off and organized-- trust me, that is a big accomplishment! I also spent quite a bit of time on some top-secret gift projects that I can't share yet. ;) Check back Monday afternoon- hopefully I'll have the pics up then!

To-Do's: Finish the recipe pages, create my 8x8" swap pages, finish up the gift projects.
Challenge: The recipe swap pages will include paper with squares on it.
