All is well...

BabyBoy had the tubes put in his ears yesterday, and everything went well.

About a half an hour before the procedure, they gave him "sleepy juice", which made him giggle and made his body kind of limp... it was pretty funny. They took him into the surgery room, and after about fifteen minutes, the doctor came out and told us that he was done and everything went well. About fifteen minutes after that he was awake and happily scarfing down a bottle of apple juice-- he was so hungry that he wouldn't even let go of the empty bottle so we could refill it. :)

I'm surprised at what a dramatic improvement we can see in him today already. For one thing, he woke up happy- not crying, as he has been for about two months now. All morning he was laughing and playing, and he definitely reacted to some sounds that he probably couldn't hear before-- like when DH turned on the upstairs shower, or when some music played on a TV commercial. It appears that my happy baby is back! :)

Thanks for all the prayers and well-wishes!

  2. I'm so glad to hear that his surgery went so well. It's amazing the immediate and dramatic difference tubes make isn't it! I only wish we had done them sooner with M than we did. Catch you later!
