"Microwave Mother" trial

It's like a car wreck- I don't want to think about it, but I can't look away.
I oppose the death penalty. That said, this particular case almost makes me reconsider my stance.

It's a local case, and it's been on the local news a lot ever since it happened in 2005. From the evidence the news has given, this mother is absolutely guilty- the child's injuries, the DNA in the microwave, the mother's faulty story. And a local tidbit- Jon Paul Rion, her attorney, always takes the scandelous headline-making cases in our area. The local perception, right or wrong, is that if he's your attorney, you must be guilty of something pretty bad. Uggghhh. The whole thing just makes me sick.

Clearly, the "mother" has issues, but I do hope that she doesn't get off on a mental excuse. I don't care how ill or drunk you are, you can't accidentally kill your baby in such a horrible manner.

P.S. If this is your first visit to my blog (via Bloggy Giveaways or other links) don't worry, this isn't the kind of thing I usually write about. I just can't get this case off my mind and thought I'd see if I was the only one watching with interest.

  1. I know I just stand it. The whole thing is horrible. I really have issues with the death penalty but with cases like this I have to wonder what God would have us do? To hear your baby crying while she did this.

Also the one mom is just now going to trial for setting her house on fire with her two kids inside while neighbors listened to her 4 month old scream inside. What do people think when they are doing these things?

    Lord come quickly.

    God bless,

  2. I hadn't heard about this and it is just HORRIBLE! I can't believe any mother would do that to her child!
