Works for me Wednesday: simple craft organization

I scrapbook, I make cards, and lately, I do a lot of craft swaps. One of my favorite craft organizers is Hefty One Zip 2.5 Gallon Jumbo Storage/Freezer Bags . These are just like regular freezer bags, but they're big enough to hold 12x12" scrapbook paper.

I like to put all the items for one page, or one group of pages, into a bag. I put in the paper, embellishments, photos, etc. in the bag as I come across them. Then, when I'm working on an album, I can just pull out one bag at a time to assemble a layout.

I've used this idea for a long time with my scrapbook pages, but it only recently occured to me that I could use it with my swap projects, too. I've started organizing all the pieces for my swap projects in a bag-- tossing in the recipes, papers, sketches, and whatever else I'll need for that particular swap. Then, when I sit down to get things ready to mail, all my pieces & parts are in one location.

It's very simple, and it definitely works for me! Check out more Works for me Wednesday tips over at Rocks in my Dryer!

  3. That's a great tip, Amy! I will have to keep that in mind for my scrapbook supplies when I'm working on a page.

As for the survey sites, it is kind of hit or miss in finding one that you can actually earn anything substantial on. The ones that I suggested on my blog are the ones that have really worked out the best for me! :)

  4. I use those too, all the time! Or I use the ones from CTMH. Ps... I want to see you alter a paint can, or you could just win one at my blog :o)

  5. Wow, what an awesome idea!!!! I do something similar to this, but I've never found a way to keep all my stuff together and I was always losing little pieces here and there. This is wonderful! I'm soo glad I read this!
