Saturday 9: gas & movies

The cost of gas is a hot topic these days, and I've considered blogging about it. So I decided to join in this week's Saturday 9, since that's the theme over there!

1. The other day I purchased gas for $3.96, which was less than the $4.37 my local station charges per gallon. What is the current gas price in your area for regular?
It was $4.09 on Friday here in Ohio. Ouch.

2. Will your vacation plans be altered by the price of gas? Nope. We didn't have any vacation plans to begin with, so gas doesn't change that fact. :)

3. Is there any movie this summer that you're looking forward to seeing? Hmmm. I couldn't even tell you what's in the theaters right now, but I vaguely remember DH and I seeing a commercial the other night and talking about how that sounded like a movie we'd like. :) I don't even remember what it was now, though.

4. Gas prices aside, what is your favorite vacation destination? As a kid, my family spent many summers at a particular state park in Ohio- we'd rent a cabin and spend a week there. I have a lot of great memoreis there. And once, before we had kids, DH and I took our dream vacation to Cozumel... I would love to go back there someday!

5. Will you watch more film on DVD than in theaters this summer? Definitely. We're averaging about two theater movies a year lately... and the last one we saw was the Veggie Tales movie!

6. Will you fly anywhere this summer? No. See #2.

7. Guess: How high will a gallon of gas peak at? I don't have any idea when it will stop this crazy skyrocketing.

8. Will gas prices effect who you vote for in this fall's election? Not unless one of the candidates has a magic wand to instantly, and positively, fix this problem.

9. How much will the price of home heating oil effect you? All of these rising costs mean less eating out, less spending money, more frugal ways.

  1. everywhere in the world experience oil price hike. i wonder when it will stop.

here's mine! hope you can drop me a visit.

  2. Ouch is right-aaaahhhhh! Cozumel-yeah! I don't make it to the movies unless it is a school field trip-lol! We need to go to the drive-in that is down the road from our house-but we never do.

    Mine is posted here

    Happy Saturday!

  3. Great to see a new face at Sat-9. Although I'd be lying if I said I knew what Veggie Tales movie is. I'm guessing it is because my kids are grown. Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Great answers! It's so odd that gas prices vary so much around the country, huh?

    Happy Saturday!

  5. Ouch is right! I paid $4.50/gallon in So Cal last Thursday … sigh! I never know what’s playing in theaters either. I’m running late this weekend because my computer balked in the HEAT WAVE yesterday and I had to turn it off.

I've posted my Saturday 9 a couple of hours ago (on Sunday morning) at Small Reflections … then ate some breakfast, watered the yard, then took Molly for a walk … letting my computer cool down a while. Maybe it will let me visit others before giving me fits again. Hope you’ll drop by when time permits.
    Hugs and blessings,

  6. The Veggie Tales pirate movie was the first one we took our son to. He wanted to go home when it got a little scary but we managed to talk him through it!
