The Tall Trumpet Player

I received some sad news this evening... a high school classmate has passed away from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Jason was a year younger than me, and we were in marching band together. I remember him as being tall, funny, and good looking... at one point I had a bit of a crush on him. I have a picture of him jumping off the railing of a porch into a gigantic mud puddle at band camp one summer... and that's how I remember him, silly and fun.

I had no idea where he was or what he was doing these days, let alone that he'd been stricken with this terrible disease. Still, it saddens me to think of someone so young being gone so soon. Rest in peace, Jason.

  1. He'll be missed all right. He was so happy all the time. That goofy smile of his... Can't wait to see that pic!

  2. I am sorry to hear this Amy. I lost a class mate this year, while I wasn't close to him, his dad was my teacher for CP English, his violent murder was a shock. He was a year younger than I.
