7 Quick Takes Friday

I always enjoy reading Jennifer's 7 Quick Takes Friday- a quick snapshot of what's going on in her world. Not long ago, she invited others to join her in posting their own quick takes. Seeing as I've neglected this blog all week, it seemed the perfect time for me to jump in! :)

1.) I am still working on Christmas cards, which is an endless source of stress to me and annoyance to my husband. I do this to myself every year... I'm just too picky with the cards. Next year, someone please remind me to go online and create some of those adorable photo cards while my kids are still young.
----------------------------------------------------------------
2.) I found out today at work that the day after Christmas was declared as a paid holiday for us "non-essential" personnel. Whoo hoo! This is one time that I don't mind being considered non-essential! :) (Extra bonus: I only work part-time, and that happens to fall on a day I'd normally work, so I'll get to enjoy that day off. Sometimes holidays don't really "benefit" me in terms of my schedule.)
----------------------------------------------------------------
3.) My friend Sarah has this great Bible giveaway going on over on her blog and I keep forgetting to blog about it. Go on, go visit her and enter to win!
----------------------------------------------------------------
4.) Have I mentioned that my husband was recently promoted from Police Officer to Sergeant? He doesn't like me to share much about him here, but it goes without saying, I'm very proud of him. DD got to pin his stripes on him after the swearing-in last week... it was very sweet! :)
---------------------------------------------------------------
5.) Ack! As I'm writing this DH just called from work to have me add a friends' two children to the list of gifts we haven't bought yet.
---------------------------------------------------------------
6.) I've been too busy to brag on my CVS trip last week. Long story short, my total bill before coupons and ECB's was $70.88, and I wound up paying just $.55 out of pocket. I was thrilled! :)
---------------------------------------------------------------
7.) I don't understand all the negativity online surrounding the birth of the Duggar's 18th child. They support themselves, they don't receive welfare, and they're debt-free... so how on earth does their family size affect anyone else?! I'm happy for them and I admire the way they are raising their family. I think those children will grow up to be responsible adults, which is more than I can say for many families who only have one or two children.

  1. Congrats to your hubby!

I agree with you re: the Duggars. If more people were as responsible, the world would be a better place.
