Lectio Devina Bible Study: The Mass in Scripture seeks to explain the parts of the mass and how they relate to scripture. From the back cover:
"Using the new translation of the Roman Missal, Binz explores the biblical foundation of each element of the Mass, offering 30 lessons to deepen love for the Eucharist, moving readers through study, reflection, prayer, and action.
Lectio divina, the ancient practice of Scripture immersion, is at the heart of this process."
This Bible study is divided up into 30 separate lessons, each with sections titled Listening, Understanding, Reflecting, Praying, and Acting. The Reflecting section offers questions to ponder and room for writing down your answers. I found myself not only wanting to write answers, but also highlighting passages and making notes in the margins.
Honestly, I haven't finished all the lessons just yet. These aren't light and easy Bible study lessons that I can just breeze through... these are lessons that ask us to read, think, and absorb them before moving on to the next. I think this will be a great Bible study to finish in the colder months when I'm curled up in the evening with a warm blanket and hot drink.
