"Simplify Your Life" book review

My word for this year is SIMPLIFY... and I love to read about the topic of simple living.

I recently read SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE: 100 WAYS TO SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY THE THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER by Elaine St. James. It was an interesting book and a quick read- I read the whole thing in two evenings.

Some of the suggestions were practical and reasonable, and others were rather ridiculous. My favorite? She suggests that to avoid the stress of keeping up with mowing and trimming your lawn, you should just get rid of the grass completely, and fill in your yard with sand or rocks. LOL! I don't think my neighbors here in Ohio would be too pleased!

If you're interested in this book, I know there are several FREE copies available for members of PaperBackSwap- that's where I got my copy!

  1. LOL....yeah...um, i don't think i will be filling in my yard with sand and rocks...LOL...that is such an odd thing for her to suggest! LOL
I am glad you were able to find some useful things in her book though, as well! Have a great friday!

  2. Can I borrow your copy? Don said I can do paperback swap once we get our stimulus check LOL. so we can pay off another C.C.

  3. why would your neighbors care what you do with your own yard; I mean, as long as it looks nice...

if I had my own property, I would want to create gardens upon gardens of flowers and medicinal plants. my dream is to have an area that is strictly for wild flowers! wouldn't that be pretty... =)

    be well,
