WFMW: date night

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI wanted to post some witty household tip for always enjoyable Works-for-me-Wednesday (hosted by Rocks in My Dryer), but, honestly, I'm too tired today to think of anything good. Instead I'll share with you the lovely evening I had last night. We spent yesterday doing some deep cleaning of the entire house, and then last night DH and I went out WITHOUT CHILDREN for our 8th anniversary. It was great!

If I can offer any useful advice today at all, it will be to go see "Wild Hogs" -- I was literally laughing out loud through the whole thing. It stars John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, and William H. Macy. It also includes John C. McGinley, who plays Dr. Cox on Scrubs (one of our favorite shows)... he's hilarious, and his take on a too-friendly cop is great. The plot was predictable, but, it was so funny that I didn't care. I haven't enjoyed a movie that much in a long time. (Just for the record, I can't remember the last movie I saw in a theater instead of at home, so that may have affected my judgement somewhat!)

After the movie we went to eat at The Cheesecake Factory. We'd never been there before, and let me tell you, it lived up to the rave reviews we'd been hearing. The portions are huge, and the food was really good. I had a chipotle chicken pasta dish that was really good- and really hot... ouch! I have enough leftovers to make two more meals out of it. We ate too much & had entire conversations without being inturrupted or having to cut up someone's food. It was so nice!

So, I guess what works for me this week is simply getting to go on a date with my husband. I know that doesn't really fit in with the normal WFMW format, but, it's a tip I can highly recommend!

  1. Date night is a good tip for all married couples. :) Glad you had a fun one...you inspired me to call our new babysitter.
