If you have kids and a car you might appreciate my tip this week. ;)

Ever since BabyBoy (who just turned 1) became old enough to reach into the basket of BigSister's (age 4) toys that sat in the car between their car seats, I've heard a lot of "Mooooommmmmm, he has my BEAR" and things of that nature while driving. Silly me, I thought one basket of toys would work to keep things organized for two kids in the car... clearly, I was wrong. (And I really couldn't take much more whining while I was driving!) So, I've been on the lookout for a way to keep the toys corralled, yet divided into two sections so that BabyBoy wouldn't infringe upon his sister's space. Last week one day we were perusing the aisles at Big Lots, and I happened to see some black plastic bins that were tall and skinny, actually intended to be magazine holders. At $1.99 each, I figured if they didn't fit into the car where I wanted them, I'd find some other use. Lucky for me, they were a perfect fit:

And the "wiggle room" left on the sides is just enough to reach down and access DD's seatbelt. Simple, but it works for me!

  1. It's never even occured to me to have a SINGLE bin of toys in my car for Bean, so you are fully TWO steps ahead of me! Good luck with your White Sandal Project! I am off to look at your cooking blog now.
