Well, we took the plunge and signed DD, age 4, up for soccer at the YMCA this week. If you know us in real life, you'll know that my husband is a sports fanatic and knows the rules, stats, and players of every sport on earth... everything, that is, except soccer. He knows the basic rules of soccer, but that's about it... and, for the record, his "basics" are WAAAAYYY more than I know-- I was never into sports at all, and I'm completely clueless. I was surprised to learn that the 4-and-5's league wears cleats... I apparently have a lot to learn!
So, I'll be hitting the library on Monday in search of a good, basic book on soccer. I'm hoping there's a "Dummies" guide. If you can recommend a good source for learning the basics, please let me know- I'd hate to have to learn the game right along with the 4-and-5 year-olds! :)
P.S. I just posted a delicious Strawberry Pie recipe over on my new cooking blog, complete with a picture! Does anything say "summer" better than strawberry pie? :)
