April Fool's day is a special day in my house.... not because we like jokes, but rather because it happens to be DD's birthday. :) She was quite an April Fool's gift-- born prematurely at 33 weeks, and quite a surprise to both us and the doctors! We were quite blessed, though, and she was pretty healthy and had no major problems. Now I can hardly believe that she's turning five today!
DD's birthday celebration will be low-key this year, just her grandparents & maybe one aunt coming over for supper. We'll be feasting on her chosen menu of chicken nuggets (homemade chicken fingers for the adults), our favorite macaroni & cheese with tomatoes, and a veggie tray with dip. Oh, and, of course a chocolate cake and ice cream. The cake has a giant Scooby Doo face on it and came from our favorite bakery.
My birthday-related to-do list:
pick up cake from bakery- sneak out to garage to put a big bow on her bike :)
- wrap her other little gifts while she's otherwise occupied
- cut up and marinate chicken for the adults
- straighten up family room
- empty dishwasher
- clean guest bathroom
run to grocery store for ice cream cones(for DD's preschool class tomorrow)- bake cupcakes in ice cream cones (I've never tried that, but this recipe makes it sound easy enough!) & then attempt this rainbow frosting
Well, considering that list, I need to get moving!

Give your sweetie birthday greetings from us! Post pics of the cupcakes for us.
ReplyDeleteI'll be making cupcakes this week too. The Bean's birthday is Friday. It blows my mind that she's three! Where does the time go?!
Happy Birthday to your DD!!! I hope she had a wonderful day! :)
