A friend shared this article and I really enjoyed it, so thought I'd share here. Weekend Project: Reduce Your Bills Just By Asking. I've heard this idea before, but always thought it was for last-ditch efforts to keep people out of collections problems. I've never tried it myself with services we regularly use.... what about you?
P.S. After reading the above article I was browsing the LifeHacker site and came across this article: Score Half-Price Meals Courtesy of Your Local TV Station. I'd never heard of such a thing, but it looks legitimate. I'm off to search for my city's stations now! :)

A friend of mine did this for her cable bill & they ended up throwing in some extra channels for her for the same price (because she hinted of switching to a different provider)...it didn't really save her money, but sometimes a freebie is just as good as a little cash back! :) I just don't have the personality for haggling, but I might have to give it a shot :)
