I'm having one of those internal struggles... nothing serious, just a blogging debate of sorts. You see, the theme for this month's NaBloPoMo is "Best", which I love. What a positive, encouraging topic to post on every day for a month! I love the idea of finding something that's the best of whatever, and talking about it daily. Kind of my own little Stuart Smalley positive reinforcements. (And if you had to Google that reference, don't tell me... I'm already feeling old this week!)
But..... I'm also on my annual new year's kick to re-prioritize and simplify my life. I've given up some other commitments recently after some soul searching, and I'm feeling peace about doing that. Focusing on my family and my home is more important that some of the other things that were taking up my time. So, is committing to writing a blog post every single day this month really in keeping with that idea? Or am I setting myself up for failure?
Blogging. ::sigh:: It's the best way for me to waste time and energy worrying about something that doesn't really impact anyone. So.... here's to the start of NaBloPoMo. Maybe. ;)
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou're not old. Just had to affirm that for ya. ;)
I rarely make a new blog post every day any more. Especially when kids/dh is home on break. I enjoy it, but you're right, it's often a waste. BUT, it's also a stress reliever, so I do think there is mental benefit to it.
Glad you chose other boards to give up and not blogging!
