Shannon over at Rocks In My Dryer is hosting a carnival this week with lots and lots, and did I mention LOTS of give-aways. Head on over there and check this out... as of Monday afternoon, there are 236 prizes up for grabs, and this carnival runs all week!
THE PRIZE: As for me, I couldn't let a chance like this pass up without participating! I dug into my gift closet and came up with a relaxation set from my favorite Christian bookstore, Christianbook.com It includes a rice-filled silky eye mask, a lightly scented candle that says "peace" on it, and a CD of instrumental songs and hymns of praise. I'm very tempted to keep this for myself, but, in the spirit of the fun blog carnival, I'll give it to one lucky winner.
TO ENTER: Comment below, AND tell me your favorite way to relax. If you don't say anything other than "enter me" or the like, your entry won't count. C'mon, I'm not asking for a lot here... I'd just like to know that you actually read this entry! I'm sorry, but I'll have to restrict this contest to the USA only due to shipping costs.
And don't forget to visit my new cooking blog for a chance to win a cookbook!
And don't forget to visit my new cooking blog for a chance to win a cookbook!
Ahhh! I'm moving this week (at six mos pregnant and with a 16 month old toddler :)), so this sounds heavenly about now. :)
ReplyDeleteplease count me in on this one.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your lovely giveaway. Relaxation seems to be hard to find these days for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, and be sure to check out my giveaway. I have two great books.
My favorite way to relax is to put on some instrumental music and sit down with a large diet coke and read!! Count me in on your contest!
ReplyDeleteHmmm right now my favorite way to relax is to simply sleep!! Or just sit and enjoy quiet. I really like quiet moments right now....
ReplyDeleteI digress...this relaxation kit sounds awesome! I would be tempted to keep it too!! :-) Count me in!!
Hmm, my favorite way to relax is to run a nice, hot bubble bath, lock the door and soak. Sometimes even by candlelight with nice music playing in the background. But I could still use the relaxation kit!!
ReplyDeleteI love to take baths in my jacuzzi tub with the lights off. It is very relaxing until one of the kids yells "MOM!" Oh well anytime minute by myself is relaxing!
ReplyDeleteCan I list ALL my favorite ways? Manicures, pedicures, massages, reading a good classic while soaking in the tub, baking... I could go on and on.
ReplyDeleteAhh yes relaxation....it's hard to come by when you are a mom. I relax by being outdoors, I just watched a beautiful sunset with my son last night and that was relaxing to me.
ReplyDeleteCount me in your contest, great idea!!
BTW, I am giving away chocolate......another great way to relax...eat chocolate. LOL!
Great prize everyone could use some pampering~ Please include me in your contest. Thanks, Amy!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds wonderful, and I love to relax with a good book and freshly painted nails -- preferably with my children either already tucked in bed or some distance away : )
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post and giveaway, I'm thinking of amending mine to say something similar. I totally agree with your saying "cmon, I'm not asking for a lot here...I want to know that you actually read this entry!" I'm sort feeling like that after reading most of the comments on my blog. I love the comments, don't get me wrong, but I bet some of the people didn't even READ what it is they were entering for! Plus, I'm sure we all would like to get additional readers from this, right? Anyway, I think you had a great idea.
ReplyDeleteAs far as MY relaxation ideas...a massage is the best! I also love to get a pedicure or manicure. Also, I love to relax by going to the movies (I love to watch videos at home, but then I'm SO relaxed, I fall asleep - ha ha)
Your relaxation set sounds awesome! Have a great day and happy contesting.
I would love to win! Please count me in on your great giveaway! Thanks! :o)
ReplyDeleteSince being a new mom to my baby boy, taking a long shower without interuption is my favorite way to relax. Count me in, thanks! However, I do live in Germany so if this is too heavy, do not feel bad to pass me by.
ReplyDeletePlease count me in. Reading is a great way for me to relax.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week.

ReplyDeleterelaxation??? I've heard of it. Maybe it's sitting on the couch with feet propped up eating dibs!!??
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to relax is in a bath with a book
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely gift! I love to take a very hot bath and just soak! Or get a pedicure,...that's nice!
ReplyDeleteRelax? What is that exactly? I think it's what I used to do before I had children! So, does going to the grocery store by myself count?
ReplyDeletepeace and quiet and a book is my way to relax!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to relax is to sit on my back porch with a good book and a cup of cold drink.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about relaxation with #4 due in 4 weeks. Add me to the list.
ReplyDeleteRelax? On the couch with a good book, preferably something cold to go with it.

Currently, my favorite way to relax is first, wet a rag with cold water (if I can coax anything other than lukewarm out of the faucet) and wash my face with it. Second, I grab a can of cold sparkling water and glug. Third, I collapse into unconsciousness on the bed.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite way to relax is to make a hot cup of coffee and go out on my picnic table and just look at the stars. So quiet after a long hard day with a 5 year old and an 8 month old!
ReplyDeletejulie_ruhlman@hotmail.com

I could use some relaxing! It all sounds very comforting, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love to take a hot bath. I put 3 chamomile tea bags in the bath water when I'm really stressed! You can never be too relaxed!
ReplyDeleteI know that I can not be entered as I am proud to be Canadian:) Anyway a great way to relax is to put on your favorite Christian tunes(I suggest Phillips, Craig, and Dean) Have an ice cold diet pepsi, and curl up in a cozy blanket. Reading a great book is also a great option.
ReplyDeleteYep. I have noticed that most of the people commenting on my giveaway post did not read the instructions! Oh, well... My favorite way to relax depends on the season. In the summer I like to sit on the porch swing with a glass of icy Coke... in the winter, a comfy chair in front of the fire with a latte... and always a good book!
ReplyDeleteI did read your post. :) I can understand where you are coming from as I don't think it's unfair to ask a little something of us (otherwise I think people can come across as a bit greedy).
ReplyDeleteWays I like to relax:
In the colder months - a nice coffee or tea, a hot bubble bath; reading a nice book with snow or rain falling.
In the warmer months - a nice iced tea with some lemon, a little treat to eat like sorbet which is refreshing. And anytime: a neck/shoulder massage from my hubby.
And a note to moms: you have to take some time for yourself or you'll have not much to give to your loved ones. Gotta make it happen, even if just a little bit.
Please enter me into the drawing. Thank you! I love to relax by scrapbooking.
ReplyDeleteit's hard to relax with a 3 year old in the house.. so I usually just grab a magazine and spend about 10-15 minutes sitting in the bathroom.. give me time to chill out and refresh..
ReplyDeleteOhhh...a chance to relax?? Don't get to do that often with thee little ones! Let's see...my favorite way to relax is very unhealthy. A nice bowl of icecream and a tv show I DVR'd after the kiddos go to bed. I think the candle and music would be much better! Please enter me!
ReplyDeleteI noticed your little ones were born premies. The picture of the baby in the sling on my contest was also born early, at 26 weeks. She's a happy healthy 2 1/2 yo now. She's just adorable, and her name is so fitting, Hope! Thanks for entering my drawing!

ReplyDeleteMel
Mmmmmmmmm...right now I would say a bubble bath by candle light with music sounds relaxing, but I usually need a less time consuming relaxation. I love to go outside and relax on the hammock under a big tree. I get to watch the birds and the sunset, and then I go inside refreshed. It's also fun relaxing with good company. Playing a game that results in lots of laughter is relaxing to me. Thank you for a great giveaway! ~Angela

My favorite way to relax? It's been a while and harder with the two little ones all over the house. When I do get to relax I have a few ways depending on my mood. One is to lay on the couch with quiet music or a good chick flick that I've seen so many times I don't mind if I take a little nap while it's on, of course this requires that both kids are napping also. Another way I like to relax is by scrapbooking. Yes, it's being productive but it's something I enjoy, esp when I'm working on old photos. Again, this is easier while the kids are napping. My other favorite way to relax requires my hubby's cooperation. I love me a good back massage, once in a while I get this & again the kids are napping. I think there's a common thread here, what do you think?
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Please count me in!! :) My fav. way to relax is to sit down and play the piano...or else read blogs!! :)

My favorite way to relax is with my girlfriends. We get out the parafin spa, foot spa, massage mat and just chill. It's a wonderful time of fellowshipping.
ReplyDeleteWell, with two special needs kids, I don't get a lot of relaxation time, but I do try to spend time reading the Word after they go to bed. And my husband occasionally gets me a massage gift certificate. What a great giveaway.

My way to relax is trying to turn inward... sometimes I'm just able to take a deep breath, because I have to stay in the middle of a situation.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on vacation in 21 years, so my little garden is the best place to imagine I'm away from it all.
Just seeing the seasons go by, the birds, the flowers...
Feel welcome to enter my give-away at: http://laaneworld.blogspot.com/2007/07/give-away.html Ending Friday night.
