FOCA: an upcoming battle for ProLifers

President-elect Obama has vowed to sign the Freedom of Choice Act into law. If you don't know what the FOCA will do, click here to read a great article from Moms on the Right. Two of the things that stand out to me are the fact that FOCA will use taxpayer money for abortions, and, it will require states to allow partial-birth and other types of abortions.

This will be a huge issue in the coming months... ProLife organizations are already gearing up for a big fight. I'm praying that this act won't become law.

"If men strive, and hurt a women with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life." (Ex.21:22-23)

  1. Thank you for posting this. I went and signed.

Thanks also for stopping by my blog. I did not realize you are an activity coordinator. I did that for a few months after we lost Sydney until I was ready to go back to physical therapy. It was a fun and challenging job!

  2. Hi Amy,
Just and FYI Obama will also be giving US subsidies for groups that facilitate forced abortions in China. Does he not realize that these forced abortions may not be wanted? I wonder if he is thinking this type of thing will work in the US? SCARY!!!!

I told Don yesterday that everyone who was so outspoken against Obama during the election now seem like they are rolling over and playing dead for him. I can't stand hearing Huckabee say "he's my president and I have to respect him and support him even if I don't agree with him" Huh? how does that work. It annoys me that just because he won that we are now expected to support him and his evil ideals - even if we don't agree with him. Annoying to say the least!

  4. I was a prolife activist until the day George Bush bombed Iraq, a country that had done NOTHING to us, and I saw he was totally unconcerned about the thousands of Iraqi children who were burned, mutilated and killed by our weapons. These are childen who are fully cognizant, fully aware, and no doubt terrified beyond belief. I am proud to have voted for Barack Obama, who did not support this unjust war. While I still don't like abortion, no politician comes down on the right side of every issue.
